Athena Middle
School Theatre Cast Appearance
at the Gilda's Club of Rochester's Walk for Wellness
Our cast will be
performing on Sunday, February 7th at the Mall at Greece Ridge
Center. We will be part of the entertainment for the Gilda’s Club “Walk
for Wellness”. Please note that there will be no designated “Chaperones”
at this event –EVERY STUDENT MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT AT THE
EVENT. One adult may supervise several students (parent may supervise his
child and two or three of his/her friends), but each student must know who
his/her responsible adult is.
Students should
arrive at the main entrance of the mall (by the food court) at 8:30 a.m.
Some students may be asked to wear costumes – you will know if you are
supposed to wear yours. If you are not wearing a costume, you should wear
the following:
-
Oliver! spirit wear - t-shirts, polos,
sweatshirts, etc. if you have them
-
Neutral colors – tans, browns, black,
navy blue – without pictures/logos if possible. These are the colors
people of Oliver’s day would have worn.
You will be given
directions to a place in the mall where we can assemble as a group and
warm up before our performance. We are scheduled to be on at 9:20, and
will finish performing at 9:50.
The Walk for
Wellness is a fund-raising walk to benefit programs at Gilda’s Club, an
organization that provides support to Rochester cancer patients and their
families. You can join in the walk by completing the registration form
(handed out at rehearsal), getting family & friends to sponsor you with
donations, and then joining in the walk around the inside of the mall
following our performance. The walk should take about 30 minutes. Your
family can walk, too!
To Re-Cap: Arrive
at the mall by 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7th. Wear your
costume, Oliver! “spirit wear” and neutral colors. Assemble with the
group to warm up. If you are joining in the walk, bring your registration
form and the money you have collected. Your form must be signed by a
parent for you to participate in the walk.
